A Rose Garden? Why?

A. Unabashed Pacifist:

A shot of peace won’t hurt, I promise.

B. Unabashed Christian:

Holy One,

Speak to me of beauty – it lies before me.
Speak to me of hope – it rises within me.
Speak to me of joy – my heart is filled with it.
Speak to me of love – I rest on its bosom.
Speak to me of truth – I will listen and let it shape me.
Speak to me of peace – it encompasses me.
Speak to me of faith – I trust, so fear finds no room in me.
Amen

C. Un-quoting Jesus:

“My way is the high way.”

[Yes, it is, but He never said this – certainly not in English.]

D. Blog: Rose Gardens

Nobody promised me a rose garden. So what? I never expected one or needed one.

Beauty being in the eye of the beholder, I prefer the garden Earth provides, natural beauty rather than an artificially controlled beauty that is dependent on hybrid, human adaptations.

While I appreciate some rose garden type of beauty, I sometimes wonder whether it has more in common with a parking lot than with Eden.
