Know Your Limits

A. Unabashed Pacifist:

Ev’ry time I feel the spirit movi9ng in my soul, I must be at peace.

B. Unabashed Christian:

Holy One,

The superfluous.
The extravagant.
The over-the-top diversity.
The extremities of size.
The cosmic scope.
The outlandish.

You can afford them.
You certainly have time for them.
You know no boundaries.

I, on the other hand, have limits.
I can live with that.
Amen

C. Un-quoting Jesus:

“This new math has me baffled. Matthew, can you explain the decimal system to me?”

[No. Matthew couldn’t, and He never said it.]

D. Blog: Good Bones

We got carryout yesterday from a place in our town called 12 Bones. They do barbecue, according to some judges, better than anybody else in the country. Try the ribs with their chipotle-blueberry sauce some time. I won’t ever say “to die for,” but people do rave about them.

Good bones make a world of difference. They can make us sturdy enough to withstand life’s physical stresses and accidents and natural events. They help make life enjoyable and fulfilling. They can make up for the inevitable shortcomings in my body, in my house, in my community, in my family, in my nation, in my religion. But I need to take care of them. Sauce improves the flavor.
