The Jesus Candidate

A. Unabashed Pacifist

An Announcement from the Presidential Candidates:
“In the interest of truth and reconciliation, we have agreed that instead of a debate we will engage in an important practice found in our common religious heritage: an evening of mutual confession.”

B. Unabashed Christian:

Holy One,

You have self-respect; in your image, so do we.
You have self-control; in your image, so do we.
You have freedom; in your image, so do we.
You have purpose; in your image, so do we.
You extend love to all; in your image, so do we.
Amen

C. Un-quoting Jesus:

“I regret that I never got the hang of the plie.”

[Safe to say, He never said that.]

Q: Some people think you are wrong to be so humble. They envision a time when you will sit on an earthly throne. Will they vote for you if you remain a servant leader? Will they reject you for not being the kind of Lord they want?
