A. Unabashed Pacifist
Pansies for Peace say:
“We do not grow on battlefields, until the killing has ended and the fields become memorial grounds. We don’t need any more of them.”
B. Unabashed Christian:
Holy One,
The grief must be as much as even you can bear.
For our stupid addiction to violence and the vast number of lives it costs.
For the petty and large-scale vindictiveness we perpetrate on one another.
For the gross neglect of the weak and vulnerable among us.
For the shameful way we treat the natural and extremely rare environment that supports us.
For the perverse pleasures that occupy our time and prevent us from enjoying the good things of life.
We pray that we will act in such ways that we don’t cause you further grief.
Amen
C. Un-quoting Jesus:
“Mission accomplished.”
[Not quite what He said on the cross.]
D. Blog: A Vision
An Iraqi meets an Afghani.
“How’s it going?”
“Election’s coming.”
“Good. Same here.”
“But violence everywhere.”
“Bad. Same here.”
“The Americans say things are better.”
“Good. Same here.”
“Thugs run wild.”
“Bad. Same here.”
“But we got rid of a notorious government.”
“Good. Same here.”
“Election’s coming.”
“Could be bad. Same here.”
