Who Needs Them?

A. Unabashed Pacifist:

Peace requires a mature perspective on life and relationships. Childish tantrums do not agree with peace, and should be treated as what they are – immature, selfish behavior.

B. Unabashed Christian:

Holy One,

You provide stability and security. In your shadow we find rest. You are strength and protection, a shelter from life’s storms.

You have been all of this for ages. So I think I understand the image. However, I wonder whether we overdo it with the stress on your age. For while you go back a long way and you’ve witnessed everything we humans have done, as the eternal one you also have an ever-new quality. Just as you bring newness all the time, you are new to us. You never become “old” to us. You do not permit stale to attach to you. The opposite of stale, you are hip. You welcome the new. You rock.
Amen

C. Un-quoting Jesus:

“Who says the science behind global warming is flawed?”

[He said something about reading the signs of the weather, but this wasn’t it.]
