Off the Un-Merry-Go-Round

A. Unabashed Pacifist:

I decided long ago to get off the war un-merry-go-round and stroll the park in peace.

B. Unabashed Christian:

Holy One,

We give “stolen” moments of time to you. We steal away from work and study, family and entertainment, and try to sneak in some time with you. Even in church activities, it can feel as if we’re working – not spending quality time with you.

The amazing thing is that you put up with it, you stay in relationship with us. In essence, we simply get out of the relationship what we put into it. If I’m offering stolen moments, maybe I’m coming back with less than the best quality. Maybe when I devote some best time, some quality time to you, then what I receive in return is of higher quality – and the relationship flourishes.
Amen

C. Un-quoting Jesus:

“Sing with me: ‘Plop, plop. Fizz, fizz. Oh what a relief it is!’ There, don’t you feel better now?”

[Not one of His finer healing moments.]

Big plans? Little surprises?
I have trouble choosing.
Which bring more joy?
