Pray for Them...

A. Unabashed Pacifist:

You know, God might hold her breath until we make peace with our sisters and brothers.

B. Unabashed Christian:

Holy One,

Our observation of your work is finite. Your activity is infinite. Our view of who you are is always from a limited perspective. We can never see you in your vastness. Even when you reveal yourself to us, we cannot be sure that is all there is to you. Thus, although I believe Jesus is the fullest expression of who you are, it remains a belief, not a fact. It might be a belief I’m willing to stake my life upon, but it remains less than a fact. I can only know you in part. The part I know is glorious, noble, inspiring, awesome, wonderful, moving, and persuasive. Then I shall know in full. Meanwhile, the parts I believe and know give my life a fullness that brings me great joy.
Amen

C. Un-quoting Jesus:

"Politicians shouldn't be allowed to wed. When they cheat, it threatens the sanctity of marriage."

[Somebody had to say it. But He didn’t.]

D. Blog: Pray for Them…

- People who live vicariously
- "Woe is me” people
- People who never have enough despite their relative wealth
- “The devil made me do it” people
- People whose fears control them
- “Is that all there is?” people
- People whose god is far too small (e.g., male, judgmental, out there, confined by scripture)
